PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit capable of preventing the breakdown when an abnormal voltage is applied across power supply terminals and/or external signal terminals while minimizing the adverse effect on normal operation. SOLUTION: This semiconductor integrated circuit includes a CMOS structure, and a power supply limiting resistor is inserted between the guard contact surrounding a pair of CMOS transistors forming the CMOS structure and the power supply terminals.
