PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite operating type switching device which is readily reduced in size. SOLUTION: The return means which automatically makes return an operating member 13, that is supported capable of sliding operation and pushing operation to an initial position, has an elastic member 13 that extends in the sliding direction of the operating member 13 and is capable of elastic deformation and movable members 17, 18 that are movably supported in the same direction as the operating direction to the case 1 and contact the operating member 13, capable of transmitting the restoring force of the elastic member 19 to the operating member 13. First transmitting parts 21, 28 which give the restoring force of the elastic member 19 to the operating member 13 as the restoring force after sliding operation and second transmission parts 24, 31 which give the restoring force of the elastic member 19 to the operating member 13 as the restoring force, after pushing operation are formed at respective contact parts 20, 27 with each as the movable members 17, 18.
