摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of rapidly and accurately extracting peak values for every code length in a playback signal in which a plurality of code lengths are mixed. SOLUTION: The optical disk device playing back an optical disk in which data are recorded by the plurality of code lengths by using a PRML (Partial Response Maximum Likelihood) system includes an AD conversion part converting the playback signal of the optical disk into a multivalued digital signal, a waveform equalizing part equalizing the waveform of the multivalued digital signal based on a prescribed partial response to form an equalization playback signal, a decoding part forming decoded data corresponding to data recorded in the optical disk from the equalization playback signal and a peak value extracting part extracting the peak values for every code length from the equalization playback signal based on the decoded data and the description of the prescribed partial response.
