PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a large-sized processed cloth such as an original cloth etc., to a sewing frame under a uniform tension by a simple constitution using an embroidery machine and an existing frame drive mechanism. SOLUTION: In applying an original cloth to the sewing frame 6, the sewing frame 6 and a retaining frame 15 are moved longitudinally in parallel and arrival of the retaining frame 15 at the fixed position of a table 5 is detected by a sensor 41. The sewing frame 6 is stopped in response to the detection signal of the sensor 41, an air cylinder 34 is urged and the retaining frame 15 is latched to the table 5. The rear side edge of the original cloth is retained on the cloth retaining part 14 of the sewing frame 6 and the front side edge of the original cloth is retained on the cloth retaining part 17 of the retaining frame 15. Only the sewing frame 6 is moved backward, the original cloth is draw out inside the sewing frame 6 and the retaining frame 15 is fastened to the sewing frame 6 by fastening members 30. The air cylinder 34 is de-energized. The latching of the retaining frame 15 to the table 5 is removed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
