PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which can be suitably used for producing vehicle exterior components excellent in mechanical properties, sliding properties, the surface external appearance of molded articles, weatherability and the like, and a vehicle exterior component produced by using this resin composition as a raw material. SOLUTION: The resin composition for manufacturing vehicle exterior components comprises component (A) of 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin having a thermoplastic polyester resin as the major component, component (B) of 25-150 pts.wt. fibrous reinforcing agent having a modified cross-section having a ratio of the major diameter of the cross-section forming a right angle with the fiber length direction to the minor diameter in the range of 1.5-10.0, and component (C) of 1-15 pts.wt. coloring component.
