PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and a program including a simple navigation function, by which a user knows a current approximate position, even when the current position of the mobile terminal is not within a range of local map information which is accumulated beforehand. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal for displaying a map on a display, comprises: a memory means for storing the local map information beforehand; a positioning means for positioning the current position of the mobile terminal; an area determining means for determining whether the current position is inside or outside of an area of the local map information; a direction detecting means for detecting the direction of the current position viewed from a destination position of the local map information; a display control means for displaying the local map information including the destination position and the direction of the current position, when the current position is located outside of the area of the local map information. Moreover, the direction detecting means detects a distance between the destination position and the current position on the local map information, and the display control means displays the distance.
