PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recognition accuracy of a company name by using a logo when producing data from a name card in a character recognition processing apparatus. SOLUTION: A character recognition processing apparatus comprises an image inputting means for inputting an image of a name card etc., an image feature amount extracting means for extracting feature amount of the input image data, an attribute determining means for determining an attribute (name, address, company name etc.) by performing character recognition about a text area from the extracted image feature amount after being performed area division into blocks such as a table, a text, a picture, etc., a logo determining means for determining a logo mark from a figure area of the extracted image feature amount, a logo information registering means for registering information such as the company name etc. corresponding to the logo, a logo information acquiring means for acquiring information such as the company name etc. corresponding to the logo from the registered logo information, and a character correcting means for correcting a character of an attribute which is performed attribute determination by using information such as the company name etc. corresponding to the acquired logo.
