PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abutment damage to a recording surface caused by the contact of a recording medium with a conveying path, to improve recording speed by continuous recording, and to miniaturize a conveying mechanism in a recording device capable of performing U-turn conveyance and switch-back conveyance. SOLUTION: The recording device for forming an image in a recording medium conveyed by conveying rollers 3 comprises a U-turn conveying path for conveying the recording medium to the conveying rollers by turning over the recording medium and a switch-back conveying path for conveying the recording medium supplied from the front side of a device main body to the conveying rollers by reversely turning the conveying direction on the upstream side of the conveying rollers in the conveying direction.
