摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in an OCB (optically compensated bend) mode suppressing a display failure due to ions which are turned into inhomogeneous and having high display quality and reliability. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel PNL having a display unit DYP comprising a plurality of display pixels PX, a driving unit GD, SD driving the display pixels PX, and a control unit CTRL controlling the driving unit GD, SD, wherein a first substrate has pixel electrodes PE arranged correspondingly to the plurality of display pixels PX, respectively, a second substrate has a counter electrode facing the plurality of pixel electrodes PE, the device has a pair of alignment layers which are disposed on the plurality of pixel electrodes PE and the counter electrode respectively and which control the alignment state of liquid crystal molecules included in a liquid crystal layer LQ by a rubbing treatment, a dummy display pixel DPX is disposed at the end side in the rubbing direction D1 of the display unit DYP, and the driving unit GD, SD has a means to periodically apply a reversal transition preventing signal to the dummy display pixel DPX.
