PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision risk degree estimating apparatus capable of estimating a collision risk degree with high reliability, and to provide a driver supporting apparatus capable of supporting an operation of a driver with high reliability so as to avoid collision. SOLUTION: A pedestrian detecting unit 42 detects a position of a pedestrian who moves in periphery of a cruising vehicle, a moving speed of the pedestrian, and a moving direction of the pedestrian, and a barrier detecting unit 46 detects a position of a barrier which prevents movement of the pedestrian. A crossing intent estimating unit 44 and a collision risk degree estimating unit 48 estimate collision risk degree about collision between the pedestrian and the vehicle based on the detected position, moving speed, and moving direction of the pedestrian, and a detected position of the barrier.
