PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device capable of preventing the damage of the device or the deterioration of the quality of image even if foreign substances enter the device from a discharging port for discharging sheets. SOLUTION: The sheet carrying device comprises a discharging means 20 discharging the sheets to the outside of the device, and a moving member 31 movably arranged at a predetermined interval from the discharging means 20. When a force from the outside of the device to the inside of the device is applied on the moving member 31, the moving member 31 moves to the inside of the device in a direction in which the interval between the discharging means 20 and the moving member 31 is expanded.
