PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple reel reduced in cost and reinforced in the periphery of a shaft hole, and to provide a half body thereof. SOLUTION: A half body of a simple reel constitutes a winding core between right and left side plates by joining half core portions of sheet molding in pairs each of which is formed by projecting a half core portion in the axial direction around a shaft hole of a side plate formed of a plastic sheet with each other so as to face each other. The half core portion is formed to be projected like a doughnut recessed in a central part thereof, and a reinforcing plate formed of a separate plastic sheet is fixed to the recessed surface, and a shaft hole is bored in the center of the recessed surface integrally with the fixed reinforcing plate. A method including a process for projecting the doughnut-like half core portion recessed in the central part thereof in the plastic sheet by sheet molding, a reinforcing process for throwing the reinforcing plate formed from a separate plastic sheet into the recessed surface for fixation, a process for punching a side plate from the plastic sheet around the half core portion, and a process for forming the shaft hole in the center of the recessed surface integrally with the reinforcing plate is used.
