<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact keyboard instrument by exhibiting a large drive force at a small drive part and to improve playing performance. <P>SOLUTION: An actuator 30 is arranged along a key arrangement direction corresponding to each key 10. In a central part inside an outer package 31 of the actuator 30, a super magnetostriction element 32 is housed along a vertical direction and a coil 33 is wound around the super magnetostriction element 32. The super magnetostriction element 32 has characteristics of varying in dimension according to an input magnetic field, and when a driving current is made to flow through the coil 33, the magnetic field is generated and the super magnetostriction element 32 extends and contracts. When the super magnetostriction extends, a movable body 42 is lifted through a magnet 34 against a pressing force of a spring 39, and a rear end part 10a of the key 10 is pushed up by a pushing element 38 of the movable body 42 to rotate the key 10 in a key touch direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
