<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI contrast medium for imaging tumors, excellent in stability in blood, retention in blood, and tumor accumulation. <P>SOLUTION: This MRI contrast medium for imaging the tumors contains magnetite particles whose surfaces are modified with a block copolymer of a branched non-chargeable polymer with a polyanion. In a preferred embodiment, the branched non-chargeable polymer is double-stranded polyethylene glycol.
