PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve cooling system capable of achieving a high valve cooling effect. SOLUTION: This valve cooling system includes a valve body (1) formed with a refrigerant channel (2) in its inside and provided with an introducing port (3) to the refrigerant channel (2) and an exhaust port (4). The introducing port (3) is formed in a valve stem (1a), and the exhaust port (4) is formed in a valve umbrella portion (1b). EGR gas cooled by an EGR cooler (9) is introduced from the introducing port (3), and the introduced EGR gas is discharged from the exhaust port (4) to a discharge port. Thereby, the valve body (1) is cooled. A check valve (12) is mounted in a path 5 supplying the EGR gas, thereby preventing backflow of high temperature gas to the side of the EGR cooler (9).
