A method for controlling the license of multiple devices includes that: receiving a license file containing the licensed use range information which is set by using device identification information wildcard and/or device identification information continuum; comparing the corresponding identification information of the device with the licensed use range information in the license file, and determining the device has the authority of using the license file if the identification information of the device exists in the range indicated by the licensed use range information of the license file. Also the embodiments of the communication device, the server and the license system using the method are provided. By using the method for controlling the license of multiple devices, the communication device and the server of the embodiments of the invention, the license process of a device is reduced.
