The invention relates to a method and a device for managing communication channels for data exchange from an aircraft (105) comprising means (115) fo r establishing at least one connection path between the aircraft and at leas t one ground entity (120) with a plurality of communication channels of at l east two different types. After detecting an event such as the modification of a communication channel condition or a modification of the aircraft posit ion, a communication configuration enabling the aircraft to receive or trans mit data from or to the ground entity via at least one of said communication channels is determined. The means for establishing at least one connection path are then adapted based on the communication configuration. Advantageous ly, the transmission of at least one datum comprises determining the priorit y level of said datum and determining the type of communication channel of t he connection path, the datum being transmitted if the determined type of co mmunication channel is compatible with the priority level.
