METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTING PRESET DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preset data setting method and system which can easily transmit and receive preset data by utilizing an existing sound terminal (earphone terminal) without newly providing a signal terminal for communication on the front panel side of image communication equipment or its vicinity.

SOLUTION: In the method and system, preset data are set in the video communication apparatus whose operation can be performed by using a remote control device 3. A signal terminal part 22 arranged on the front side of the equipment is connected to a sound signal line 23b to extract a sound signal and switches connection with the sound signal line 23b to connection with a data signal line 23a to transmit and receive a data signal. The remote control device 3 takes in preset data set in the first video communication apparatus through a data transmitting and receiving cable 26 connected to the signal terminal part 22 and stores the preset data in the remote control device 3 itself. Then the preset data stored in the remote control device 3 are transmitted and set to the second image communication equipment.
