PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter having a means for reducing drag, and avoiding looseness in a torque converter clutch in operation in a torque converter mode, while improving even a cooling flow. SOLUTION: In this torque converter 100, a carrier 150 is arranged for the torque converter clutch 106. The carrier 150 is coupled to a turbine shell 102 in the rotational direction. A providing chamber 113 is arranged for the clutch. A second pressure chamber 138 and a first pressure chamber 128 fluidly communicating with an annular space 123 are provided.
