<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on an occupant when a tilt up and tilt down operations are performed without impairing the aesthetic appearance of an outboard motor. <P>SOLUTION: This outboard motor comprises a clamp bracket 4 attached to a hull 2 and an outboard body 6 so connected to the clamp bracket 4 as to be vertically swung through a tilt shaft 5.
