PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SPD for power supplies storing a zinc oxide varistor element and a disconnection means for disconnecting the varistor element from an electric circuit in the occurrence of a fault in a casing each in a functionally stable state. SOLUTION: At the tip side of a spring section 21b of a disconnection conductor 21 of a strip-like metal plate that is joined to an electrode extraction terminal 11 of the zinc oxide varistor element 10 with a low-molten alloy and has spring properties, a current fuse section 21c is formed. The current fuse section is set to a cross section fused by a surge current exceeding the maximum surge current withstand of the varistor element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
