THERMAL CAULKING JOINT BODY AND ITS JOINTING METHOD, IMAGE SENSOR UNIT EMPLOYING IT AND IMAGE READER

A thermal caulking joint body in which the amount of warpage resulting from heating shrinkage is reduced when an article is secured to a molding composed of thermoplastic resin by thermal caulking. Its jointing method is also provided. A plurality of caulking protrusions are protruded in the longitudinal direction of a molding composed of thermoplastic resin having a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and thermally deformed to secure the article by thermal caulking thus obtaining a thermal caulking joint body wherein warpage prevention grooves (15) are formed at positions at both sides of each of the caulking protrusions (12) and apart fromthe root of the protrusion in a molding (4) before thermally caulked. When thermal caulking joint body is employed to a contact image sensor (CIS) unit, an image sensor in which difference of quality such as distortion or resolution of an image in the longitudinal direction of the CIS unit are negligible can be manufactured.
