PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the armature of a rotating electric machine such as a motor in which winding is prevented effectively from being unwound without impairing the space factor of an annular winding. SOLUTION: The stator provided with: a stator ring having a plurality of teeth in the circumferential direction; and an annular winding wound to be laminated at least in the direction of the axis of rotation or the radial direction of a rotor and fixed to the stator ring to meander through the teeth of the stator ring, is further provided with a plurality of members for holding the annular winding not to be unwound. The stator ring is provided with a groove in a portion against which each of the plurality of members for holding the winding abuts, and a portion of the member for holding the winding is inserted into the groove.
