PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mapping capable of faithfully reproducing an important color without damaging the entire gradations as much as possible. SOLUTION: This color processing device comprises an acquiring means for acquiring the color gamut of a mapping source and the color gamut of a mapping destination; an important color area generating means for generating an importable color area from importable color data; an initial faithful reproduction area generating means for generating an initial faithful reproduction area from the color gamut of the mapping destination; a determining means for determining the faithful reproduction area from the important color area and the initial faithful reproduction area; and a mapping means for using the color gamut of the mapping source, the color gamut of the mapping destination and the faithful reproduction area to map the color gamut of the mapping source to the color gamut of the mapping destination.
