PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SPD for power supplies capable of ensuring insulation properties reliably at a disconnection position, where a varistor element is disconnected from an AC electric circuit when a fault occurs in the varistor element. SOLUTION: The SPD for power supplies has: an insulator plate 30a moving between an electrode extraction terminal 11 of a zinc oxide varistor element 10 and a disconnection conductor 21 disconnected from the electrode extraction terminal 11 in the fault of the varistor element 10 to insulate both the conductive materials; and a spring member 31 for energizing so that the insulator plate 30a is operated when the varistor element 10 fails.
