[Also in Division H2] Connector 20 for attachment to an edge of a printed circuit board 14 comprises a strip 21 of rectangular cross-section with a plurality of transverse channels 26, housing preformed spring contacts 32, with (a) hooked ends 35 yieldingly retained by recesses 33, (b) V-shaped portions 36, and (c) flat portions 38 and 40, the last passing through, and being soldered to holes 17 and hence to terminal ends 18 of wire runs 15 of the board 14, whose edge 19 is received in notch 34. A mounting device 13, attached to studs 12 of a panel 10, has a longitudinal slot 43 to receive connector 20, whose contacts 32 engage with terminals 11 on panel 10, and guide arms 44 with grooves 45 to receive side edges 46 of board 14. A retainer cap 49, held in place by clips 54, has a channel 50 which contains a wave-shaped spring and receives the outer edge of board 14. |
