PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent and scratchproof watch crystal. SOLUTION: The watch includes a case 10, a movement 12, and display means 14. The case 10 includes a middle part 16, a first and a second element for closing the case, respectively a crystal 18 and a back cover 20, and a casing ring 22. The watch crystal 18 is made of transparent and scratchproof polycrystalline diamond. Four horns 24 of the middle part 16 extend above the body of the middle part 16 and form claws 26. The claws 26, together with the body of the middle part 16, a slide bar in which the crystal 18 is housed. The back cover 20 is fixed to the middle part 16 via screws which are not shown in the drawing. The back cover 20 also abuts against the casing ring 22. This casing ring 22 extends over the entire height of middle part 16 and it abuts against the crystal 18. Thus, when the back cover 20 is fixed via screws, the casing ring 22 exerts pressure on the crystal 18 which abuts against the claws 26. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
