NEUTRON DETECTOR AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a neutron detector capable of coping with miniaturization. SOLUTION: A neutron-sensitive material film 24 is formed on the inner circumferential surface of a cylindrical metal plate 23. The metal plate 23 is cut open along a cutting line which is axially continuous between both ends and cylindrical formed. The metal plate 23 is inserted into a cylindrical cathode 22 and connected electrically thereto to be used as a cathode. Since the neutron-sensitive material film 24 can be formed easily on the metal plate 23 regardless of the diameter of the metal plate 23 in a used state as the cathode for using in a detector body 13, allowing the neutron detector to cope with miniaturization.
