PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive heat exchanger having superior heat exchanging performance. SOLUTION: In this heat exchanger comprising a large-diameter tube in which the water is circulated, a small-diameter tube 13 in which a refrigerant is circulated, and an intermediate-diameter tube 12 closely kept into contact with an outer periphery of the small-diameter tube 13 at a plurality of spots, in a state that the small-diameter tube 13 and the intermediate-diameter tube 12 are internally inserted to the large-diameter tube, the vertical cross-sectional shape to the longitudinal direction of the intermediate-diameter tube 12 is polygonal, and a plane portion of the polygonal shape is closely kept into contact with the small-diameter tube 13, thus the heat exchanger of high performance, having high adhesion of the intermediate-diameter tube 12 and the small-diameter tube 13 while having refrigerant leakage detecting performance, can be provided.
