PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing an organic based waste in which not only a combustible waste such as a waste tire and plastic wastes easily capable of effective use of calories but also sludge in which moisture is contained much can be processed, and the throughput is also raised. SOLUTION: The method of processing an organic based waste comprises as follows. In a cement firing process, an apparatus 12 which carries out the drying treatment or carbonization treatment for the organic based waste by a hot gas to be discharged is provided, and the dry matter or carbide after being processed with the apparatus is utilized for the cement firing process. The method is characterized in that the hot gas is the one which mixes a kiln tail gas which is directly extracted from a cement rotary kiln tail 5 and a tail gas of a suspension preheater 2.
