PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bladder for a safety tire capable of lightening a bladder and reducing costs without disturbing quick and constant diameter-enlarging deformation at the time of reducing an inner pressure. SOLUTION: This air bladder 3 used for a safety tire 1 is stored in a tire 2, and is filled with gas at a predetermined inner pressure of the tire 2. While the inner pressure of the tire 2 is normal, spaces S<SB>1</SB>, S<SB>2</SB>are formed. While the inner pressure of the tire is reduced, the air bladder 3 is enlarged in diameter and deformed, and takes over the support of a load from the tire 2. The air bladder 3 comprises a hollow annular case member 4, a first reinforcing layer 5 provided on an outer peripheral side of a crown part of the case member 4, an sliding layer 6 provided between the case member 4 and the first reinforcing layer 5, and a second reinforcing layer 7 provided on an inner peripheral face of the first reinforcing layer 5 and having a larger width direction breaking strength than that of the first reinforcing layer. The sliding layer 6 has a maximum friction coefficient between it and the case member or the first reinforcing layer larger than that between the first reinforcing layer and the case member, and a larger width than that of the first reinforcing layer.
