PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a fuel efficiency characteristics map of a fuel saving driving support device even after being manufactured. SOLUTION: A fuel efficiency characteristics map server 10 receives information on the vehicle type of a vehicle installed with the fuel saving driving support device 3 or the engine type of the vehicle, selects the engine fuel efficiency characteristics map associated with the information on the received vehicle type or the engine type from a plurality of engine fuel efficiency characteristics maps and transmits the selected engine fuel efficiency characteristics map to a portable telephone 9. The fuel saving driving support device 3 obtains the engine fuel efficiency characteristics map transmitted from the fuel efficiency characteristics map server 10 through the portable telephone 9. Further, the fuel saving driving support device 3 applies the detected value or the estimated value of driving conditions such as the engine torque, the rotational speed of the engine and the speed of the vehicle to the obtained engine fuel efficiency characteristics map and provides a display for supporting fuel efficiency enhancement with a driver based on the application result.
