PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem when cutting a bar steel by a bar steel cutting machine, wherein a cutting blade is broken if the cutting work is performed without noticing that the position of a bar steel with a movable cutting blade moving in the direction of opposing fixed cutting blades being brought into orthogonal contact therewith is inclined by a mistaken insertion of a worker. SOLUTION: A bar steel cutting machine has an top face stopper 10 on a fore end of a projecting shaft 11 juxtaposed to a fixed cutting blade 6 installed on one side end inside a front side part of a head frame body 1. In the top face stopper, the longitudinally slidable projecting shaft via an elastic member 12 parallel thereto is inserted in a through hole formed in the front side part of the head frame body, and has a stopping unit 14 on an outer end of the projecting shaft. The top face stopper suppresses a top face part of a bar steel inserted in a recessed hole 3 formed in an inner part of the head frame body composed of a front part and a rear part.
