A cup is blow-moulded by first injectionmoulding a blank 242 in a die 240, withdrawing the blank on a mandrel 230 into the space between halves 231, 232 of a blow-mould, closing the mould halves to grip the blank against the mandrel, and then supplying air through passages 71, 73 to blow the blank against the mould. The moulded cup is ejected by a slide 229. The mandrel and the slide have recesses 244, 243, respectively to assist in retaining the blank in position, whilst it is both moved into the mould and blown.</p> |
