A liquid heating vessel incorporates means for reducing the environmental impact thereof. The vessel may have a reservoir for dispensing liquid into the heating chamber of the vessel in one or more metered quantities, so that the user can easily control how much water is heated. The reservoir may be retrofitted to an existing vessel.
