It is an object to provide a photometric method for an automatic analyzing device and an automatic analyzing device which repeats a plurality of times an intermittent rotation step for moving a plurality of vessels at a predetermined pitch every intermittent rotation so as to rotate a cuvette wheel and measures optical characteristics of liquid contained in the plurality of the vessels by a plurality of light beams with different wavelengths. The intermittent rotation step includes a photometric step (S102) which moves the plurality of vessels over the predetermined pitch and measures the optical characteristics of the liquid contained in the plurality of vessels by the light beams with different projecting positions along the rotation direction of the cuvette wheel and different wavelengths, and a sending number adjusting step (S106) for rotating the plurality of vessels in the reverse direction.
