Method for finishing workpieces

The method involves selecting a machining process from a supply of different machining processes, and inputting machining dimensions. A machining plan is prepared by a controller on the basis of the selected machining process and the input machining dimensions under consideration of available tools. Tool parameters are read from a tool data memory for preparation of the machining plan. A plausibility check is executed on basis of the selected machining process and the input machining dimensions.
