In order to isolate the sealing material (1205) containing a conductive particle (1270) or the conductive paste from the liquid crystal layer, the sealing material forms a plurality of compartments (1245,1246) such that a compartment (1246) in which a pixel region is provided and a compartment (1245) in which a conductor is provided are separated.
