Video-based image control system

A computer implemented method for controlling an application based on the determined position of a user's hand. Positions of a user's body are expressed in three dimensional coordinates relative to an image detector. A plane segmenting a torso from a hand of the user's body is defined, and a position of the hand is determined based on the defined plane.
