The switch disconnector (28) has a safety device, which is switched in a multipolar manner and has two connections to each terminal. The switch disconnector has a unipolar switching module (10) at each pole. Each switching module has a fuse element or a separation plate and a switching chamber. A connection of the switching chamber is connected with one of the connections (34) and another connection of the switching chamber is connected with one of the other connections (32) respectively.
