A surface cleaning apparatus comprises a housing including a base and an upright handle mounted to the base for manipulation of the base along a surface to be cleaned. The handle has an accessory tool cavity (396, fig 19) covered by a window (382, fig 1) at a front side thereof and open at the rear side thereof such that the accessory tool cavity (396, fig 19) is accessible from a rear side of the handle. The apparatus also includes a dirt collection system that is mounted to the handle and which includes a suction nozzle and a vacuum source in fluid communication with the suction nozzle to draw dirt from the surface to be cleaned through the suction nozzle. An accessory hose wrap 402 may be mounted on the rear side of the handle, with the cavity (396, fig 19) being between upper 404 and lower 406 sections of the wrap. |
