<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase conjugator which can be utilized also in a wavelength multiplexing communication system and to provide an optical information communication system and an optical information communication method using the phase conjugator. <P>SOLUTION: Signal light and phase conjugation light nearly free from a frequency shift are outputted by using the phase conjugator comprising a first light source generating continuous light, a first multiplexer mixing the signal light and the continuous light generated from the first light source, a second light source generating continuous light, an optical combiner mixing light formed in the first multiplexer and light generated from the second light source and outputting the resultant mixed light and having output and input ports of 2×2 and a semiconductor optical amplifier bonding two output ports from the optical combiner in a loop shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
