An adjustable cup stand assembly for a beverage / coffee preparation machine comprises a shaft 10 having a longitudinal axis and a cup stand 11 movably coupled to the shaft, the cup stand comprising a platform / tray 26 for receiving in use a receptacle and a coupling arrangement 14 coupling the platform to the shaft, the coupling arrangement comprising a brake member 40 which is engagable with the shaft, the platform being cantilevered from the coupling arrangement such that the weight of the platform causes the brake member to engage the shaft and retain the cup stand in position on the shaft, the platform begin movable to disengage the brake to enable adjustment of the vertical position of the stand to accommodate various cup height sizes. Ideally the platform can pivot / see-saw about an axis orthogonal to that of the shaft. The platform may be rotatable about the shaft. Figures 9 and 10 show alternative embodiments. |
