A pharmaceutical composition is provided to reduce a side effect of PPAR-gamma agonist such as increase of weight, to increase an effect of medical treatment by improving a resistance property of an insulin and to prevent and cure diabetes. A pharmaceutical composition includes alismatis Rhizoma, hoelen, polyporus, atractylodis Rhizoma alba and Cinnamomi Cortex spissus. A mixing ratio of the alismatis Rhizoma, the hoelen, the polyporus, the atractylodis Rhizoma alba and the Cinnamomi Cortex spissus is 5:3:3:3:1. The pharmaceutical composition reduce a side effect of PPAR-gamma agonist which is a thiazolidinedione system drug. The thiazolidinedione system drug is a pioglitazone. The pharmaceutical composition is used as powder, granule, refinement, pilule, dragee, capsule, liquor, gel agent, slurry and colloidal suspension.
