A connection is formed between a fence panel 22 and an external corner 13 of a structure by forming a recess (16, fig 1) in the corner so that the recess opens into the two walls 11, 12 defining the corner 13. A bar 20 is mounted in the recess to extend parallel to the corner with clearance around the bar, A clamp 28 having two pairs of jaws is employed to connect together the bar 20 and an adjacent edge of the fence panel, with one pair of jaws gripping the bar and the other pair of jaws gripping a vertical rail 25 of the panel. The structure may be metallic and the recess may be formed with metallic walls. The elongate member may be attached to the bottom and top walls of the recess and be made of tubular metal and may be welded in position. The panel may comprise a security fence panel including vertical tubular members. The clamp may comprise a pair of double ended jaws secured with a screw thread fastener. A further claim is made for a transportable accommodation unit, such as a portakabin ¹, including the recess and the elongate member mounted therein to enable a panel to be secured to the unit. |
