Semiconductor element with reflective coating, method for its manufacture and its application

The component has a semiconductor layer (1), a functional layer (2) that is essentially made from silicon and carbon, and a layer (5) that is made up of silicon and carbon. The layer (5) functions as reflector for light incident on the component. The semiconductor layer comprises front and back sides facing an incident light. Refractive indices of the functional layer and the reflector are adjusted on each other, so that the light is reflected at the reflector at a wavelength range greater than 500 nanometers. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a reflectively-coated semiconductor component.
