摘要 The present invention is an active RF power detector and decision circuit, which is used to provide a DC signal to circuitry that controls the DC supply voltage to an RF power amplifier. The DC signal is proportional to the amount of RF power detected within specified operating limits. When the RF power detected is above the maximum operating limit, the DC signal is set to its maximum value. When the RF power detected is below the minimum operating limit, the DC signal is set to its minimum value. The active RF power detector and decision circuit does not require an external DC reference voltage. Since the active RF power detector and decision circuit uses active components, the input impedance is high enough to use resistors to couple the RF input signal instead of a lower impedance RF coupler and the response time is faster than a passive envelope detector.
