METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR APPLICATION OF UNEQUAL ERROR PROTECTION TO UNCOMPRESSED VIDEO FOR TRANSMISSION OVER WIRELESS CHNNELS

A method for applying UEP to the non-compressive video transmitted through a wireless channel and a system therefor are provided to efficiently and certainly transmit a non-compressive HD video wirelessly. A transmitter(202) comprises a physical layer(PHY)(206) and an MAC layer(208). A receiver(204) comprises a physical layer(PHY)(214) and an MAC layer(216). The PHY and MAC layer provide wireless communication between the transmitter and receiver through a wireless channel(201) via an antenna. The transmitter comprises the followings: a parsing module(210) parsing input video bits by streams divided based on importance levels; an encoding module(212) implementing encoding for different bit streams like the function of an encoder; a multiplexing module(211) integrating the encoded bit streams into one stream; and a mapper module(213) which performs arrangement mapping by using an asymmetric arrangement for the UEP like the function of a QAM mapper.
