<p>The hairs are removed from the skins by a process consisting of wetting the skins in baths of natural water and suspending them in drying chambers. The skins remain in the rooms at 25-30 degrees C for about 24 hours, and then the chambers are brought to 18-20 degrees C. during a period of 12 hours, and finally are maintained for 12 hours at about 16-18 degrees C. The air is saturated with moisture to about 90-100% humidity.</p> |
