In order to localise faults in a reservoir anisotropic materials marked with radioisotopes emitting gamma rays are introduced, allowed to accumulate and their distribution measured from their radiocactivity. The isotopes may be La, Au, Sb, Ir, or Sc in metal, oxide or salt form added to a synthetic polymer, pref. polypropylene in an amount sufficient flux of 1011 neutrons/cm2. In an example the radioisotopes were added with a density 0.9995-1.0015.
